Citrus Theme Florida Wedding

What else says Florida wedding better then oranges and a citrus palette? This styled shoot at a new venue around the Julington Creek area had both! La Venture Grove was the perfect venue for this shoot, there’s actual orange groves on the property!

I live right down the road from Let Destiny Design and Beauty Within Bridal! That being said, I offered to pick Destiny up for this shoot so we could ride together. When I walked into her Amelia Island floral shop I knew this was going to be such a great styled shoot. Her shop was literally blooming with orange florals! Destiny had also gotten a load of kumquat branches from a neighbor’s yard! So fun!

After arriving at La Venture Grove, Destiny and I went to work on setting the reception table. The table we used was one that was on the property and had a great story behind it! It had been hand built by a family member of the venue owners. I set the table with gold and white dinner and salad plates that I topped with a fun dessert plate. I was thrilled to break out my mint goblets for the table settings. The table was finished off with florals and oranges!

West and Lee Vintage Rentals brought the sweetheart table. It was dressed with florals and some Mr. and Mrs. Rae Dunn champagne coupes. I always do a little something special for the sweetheart table.

Sweets by Staci made the most perfect orange cake! Loved the technique she used for it. The cake looked amazing on the mint green table brought by West and Lee. Note, if you’re worried your guests might use their cake plates and cake forks for something other then the cake, then stack both on your cake table!

Sarah brought her amazing Unbridled Bar! I’m in love with this adorable bar! Destiny did an amazing job adorning the bar with flowers! A great bar and lounge area was set up and if I was invited to a wedding with this set up I know where I’d spend all my time.

if you’re looking for inspiration for a Florida style wedding then look no further! This shoot will give you all he inspo…..

Vintage Teacart Love

I fell in love with my vintage teacart as soon as I laid my eyes on it!  I was out doing my usual rounds of thrift shopping in Amelia Island when I spotted it.  I didn't ponder long on whether to buy it or not.  Envisioning all the uses for it made it an easy to decision to mark it sold and load it in my truck.

A teacart can be easily transformed into an awesome cigar bar/scotch bar.  Set out vintage decanters, mismatched vintage barware, cigars, pipes, and some good Bourbon and Scotch and voila' instant bar for the men!  Put out a few comfy chairs around the cart and the men will never leave it's side!  Brides magazine did an online article about Brodals (man version of a bridal/baby shower) one idea they had was to set build a bar and my teacart turned bar was the featured picture!

Having coffee at your wedding or party?  Use a teacart as a coffee cart.  Set out lovely coffee cups and vintage coffee pots to create a beautiful coffee station.  The coffee station can be dressed up with fresh flowers.

Need a cake serving station?  A vintage teacart would be perfect!  It's just large enough to hold a cake and lots of beautiful vintage cake plates.  Pinterest is full of ideas on how to dress up your teacart cake station.

Teacarts can be used for many other things.  They would be great for dessert stations, candy buffets, present stations, and for displaying photos of the bride and groom.  The ideas are endless and Pinterest is full of them.
