Mismatched Vintage China

Mismatched vintage china has established a place in the heart of brides and event planners!  Mismatched china at your wedding reception or private event adds a certain charm, whimsy, elegance, and it shows off your unique personality and style.

Timeless vintage mismatched china will not fail to be the topic of conversation amongst your guests around the dinner table.  Your guests will delight and reminisce over certain styles and patterns.  Many guests might remember a certain pattern that had been in their family for years.

Mismatched china can be put together in so many ways.   There are no rules when it comes to styling it.  Any way you mix it up looks great!  You can mix round plates with square plates and mix match colors, patterns and styles.  There really is no right or wrong!

If you're wanting to add your personal style to the table settings at your wedding reception or your private event then mismatched china is the way to go!  Renting it can save you lots of time, money, and the hassle of washing and storing it after your event.  It is a great option if you want the vintage mismatched look.  I have quite the collection and I love seeing it used and appreciated by party and wedding guests!

Dishing It Out To The Navy Wives

I am a proud former Navy wife.  My husband retired after spending 23 years in the Navy.  Many of his Navy years he spent stationed at Kings Bay Naval Submarine just north of our home in Fernandina Beach.  When I happened upon the Facebook event page for the tea party to honor the Kings Bay Navy wives I knew I wanted to be a part of it.

I contacted the event planner and we spoke about her plans for the tea party. She wanted the wives to have a proper tea party and we planned for me to provide teacups, lunch plates, and goblets for all of the wives.  Set up was to be the evening prior to the party with finishing touches the morning prior to.

I dished out 100 of my floral lunch plates, teacups, and goblets for the wives.  Many of them had never been to a tea party.  It was wonderful seeing their delight at all of the lovely teacups.  Several wives commented how extra special they felt using formal tea party items.

The wives had a proper tea party complete with scones, cucumber sandwiches, and an assortment of teas.  They were even taught how to use jam and pot de creme' on their scones.  Many of the wives had a great time saying, "Please pass the pot de creme'."

I was able to meet many of the wives and commiserate about the struggles of having your husband gone for long periods of time.  Sitting back with a warm cup of tea made chatting with these ladies relaxed and enjoyable.  Tea parties aren't all stuffy and pinkies up!  They are a great way to enjoy the company of other ladies.

It was such a pleasure being a part of that special day.  A truly special day for some very special wives!

Putting Together The Perfect Table Setting

I like to compare putting an awesome table setting together to putting together the perfect outfit.  I like to start with one great piece, might be a great skirt or a dinner plate and then I build and add on layers from there.

Once you know the colors and style you are working with the rest should come easy.  It should be fun, stress free, and make you feel great once it's all together!  I might be a tad obsessed with my collection of china and "playing" with it!  I love putting together different looks and styling my plates just as much as I love putting together an outfit for a night out!

The beauty of mismatched china plates  is not everything has to match perfectly.  It's just no fun to be all matched.  It's fine to mix different colors together, to pair a round plate with a square plate, or to add something a bit eclectic to a classic piece. There are so many looks you can create with mismatched china and it all looks great!

Goblets and teacups are like your accessories to your table setting.  Have fun with them!  They can pull together your look and give you the chance to add in more of your personal style.

I want all of my clients to have a table setting at their event that will reflect their style and be unique to them.
